When overhead glass is part of your conservatory design, Renaissance can suggest a number of shading methods to assure you are rewarded with a comfortable year-round living space.
Among the most beautiful of our recommendations are conservatory blinds made from Pinoleum. Pinoleum blinds are available in a wide choice of styles including Roller Blinds, Roman Blinds, Pleated Blinds, Vertical Blinds and Venetian Blinds. For ultimate convenience, most conservatory blinds can be motorized or manually operated.

On a Conservatory roof, the Roman blind style creates an attractive rippling effect.
The blinds are suspended on discreet, tensioned wires and retract in folds, softening angular window shapes. When not in use, Roman side blinds hang attractively from the eaves acting like a pelmet.
Roman blinds are perfectly suited to Original French Pinoleum and to either manual or automated operation. |

Roller blinds are the simplest style for Conservatories. They are unobtrusive when retracted and easy to clean.
For the roof, roller blinds contain a strong spring within the roller, against which the blind is pulled by a cord running through specially designed and discreetly placed pulleys. Neat aluminum cassettes can be fitted for fabric blinds to conceal the blind when retracted. At Renaissance, we often conceal the rollers behind attractive cornice-style crown moldings.
Roller blinds are suitable for all fabrics and motor systems. |

Operating systems can be as simple as hand wands for Roman and pleated blinds.
If you prefer a more high-tech approach, our conservatory blinds can be motorized, either by using one motor to control several blinds, or individual motors for each blind. Innovative systems are also available to respond automatically to external conditions such as the rising or setting sun.

Original French Pinoleum is the perfect fabric for Conservatory blinds. Composed of thin strips of woven wood, pinoleum has been manufactured in France for over 100 years. A traditional material for Conservatory blinds, Pinoleum will transform the sun's glare into a soft, dappled light.
National Trust colors from Farrow & Ball (shown below) will also come with a choice of color-coordinated special edge tapes (not shown below).
